Too many of us have firsthand experience of the devastating impact Alzheimer’s and Dementia has, not only on those who suffer from it, but also those that care for them. I am playing in the Gordie Howe C.A.R.E.S. Pro-Am Hockey Tournament on May 24 and 25 to commemorate my Father-in-law Wally's battle with Dementia, and the efforts his caregiver and wife Agnes made to provide care and comfort to him. We lost Agnes to cancer in late 2024, but there will be many other caregivers and their families who will deal with Alzheimer's and Dementia so I will continue to lace them up for this great cause for as long as I can!
