Supporting Gordie Howe CARES in Honor of My Mom - Sandy Dunn
Skating for a Cause Close to My Heart!
In May 2026, I will be participating in the Gordie Howe CARES Pro-Am, a weekend hockey event where local players join NHL Alumni from across North America to raise money for the Gordie Howe CARES Centre for Alzheimer’s Research and Education Society.
This cause is very personal to me. My mom is living with late-stage dementia, and our family is experiencing firsthand how deeply this disease affects not just the person diagnosed, but the entire family. It has been incredibly hard on my dad, my sisters, my nephew and all of us who love and support her.
I’m proud to be taking part in this event with the Vytality Vipers in support of Gordie Howe CARES. I’m also very grateful to my good friend Brad Lohman, chairman of the event and a leading force behind the charity, for all the work he is doing to make this tournament possible.
Please consider making a donation to support this important cause. Every contribution helps and is sincerely appreciated.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
